Metals & Alloys
The subject for our May assignment is Metals and Alloys. Mick Day announced this assignment at our March meeting. It will be reviewed at our May meeting.
•The challenge is to experiment with photos that showcase the qualities and characteristics of metal.
•Look for textures eg; smooth engineered metal, rusty old metal, drilled metal, welds, coins, etc
•Look for uses eg; structural, ornamental, industrial, tools etc
•Try different angles and lighting (eg; flash, soft lighting, hard lighting etc) look for reflections, textures, lustre and sheen, macro might be an option
•Consider depth of field

Just 2 photos per member please. Submission by 7th May. Tag is ass-2025-05.

Broadwater Lake
Our photoshoot at Broadwater Lake, Godalming was led by Ann Jacobs on 20th March 2025.
Paul Graber has offered to review the photos at our April meeting, these should be loaded into flickr using the tag ass-2025-04 and be assigned to the Guildford u3a Photography Group in flickr. 2 photos per member only please.

Mercedes World
Our February Photoshoot took place at Mercedes World, Brooklands Road, Weybridge. Admission to the museum is free and proved a rich vein for photographing all things Mercedes. There is also a test track and skid pan outside for further photo opportunities. Photography is welcome at the museum.

Brooklands Museum
John Clark led this photoshoot to Brooklands Museum on 22nd January.
Brooklands has a fantastic collection of exhibits both inside and outside so is very well worth a visit.
Photos taken (max 2 per member) can be submitted to shoot-2025-02 by Wednesday 5th February please.
