• Photoshoot (details sent by e-mail)  22nd Sept 14:00 – 16:00hrs – Frensham Little Pond (please advise Gachou if you wish to attend ) . Please use the tag photo-2021-09 for your submissions. Then share them with the Group. Up to 3 submissions can be made, a landscape, a close up and a burst shot.

Using Flickr to upload photographs for U3a Photography meetings – Short Guide

1 Introduction

This note is designed for those who have used Flickr and have an understanding of its functionality.  The more lengthy full guide to Flickr provides a higher level of detail of the steps required. A short instruction video on how to load photos follows

2 Uploading a photo to a ‘gallery’ when the photo has NOT previously been uploaded to Flickr

a) Open Flickr ‘Photostream’

b) Click on the upload ‘arrow’ in the top right-hand corner

c) Follow the instructions to select your photograph

d) Ensuring that your photograph is highlighted with a pink border;

– add a name and description if you wish

– open the ‘tag’ option on the left of the screen and enter the appropriate ‘tag’.  The following naming convention should be used for the members’ gallery, this example is for Sept 2021,

 change the year and date depending on the month you are loading

Use ‘photo’ or ‘ass’ in place of ‘mem’ if you wish to load to a photoshoot or assignment gallery

– Open the ‘Groups’ option and select and click on the Flickr group you wish to load to – usually ‘U3a Guildford Photography Group’ – a tick will be displayed to indicate that the group has been selected.

e) Click on upload photo to complete the action.

3 Uploading a photo that has previously been saved into Flickr

a) Open the ‘Group’ option under the ‘You’ menu at the top of the Flickr home page

b) Select and click on the Flickr group you wish to load to – usually ‘U3a Guildford Photography Group’.

c) Highlight the photo you wish to load into the group.

d) Scroll down the page and input the relevant ‘tag’.  The following naming convention should be used for the members gallery, this example is for Sept 2021,

e) Ensure that your photo has been set with a privacy setting of ‘public’

f) Add a name for the photo and/or description

f) Click ‘add to group’ to complete the action.
